Narra Bukulla Artist in Residence 2026: Call Out

Deadline:

Deadline: May 25

The Narra Bukulla Artist in Residence offers a two-month, self-directed residency set within a coastal bush landscape on Djiringanj Country, Far South Coast NSW.

Now in its third year, the residency provides artists with dedicated time, space, and support to engage deeply with their practice. Surrounded by spotted gum forest, waterways, and nearby ocean headlands, the program encourages a meaningful connection to place—whether through reflection, experimentation, or the development of a focused project.

Open to artists working across disciplines, the residency is suited to self-directed practitioners who are comfortable working independently while participating in a shared living environment. Artists are invited to respond to the landscape and context, allowing the experience to inform their creative process.

The residency includes:

— Two-month stay (October–December 2026)
— Studio space
— Accommodation
— $2,500 artist stipend
— Community engagement opportunity (open studio or workshop)
— Invitation to exhibit as part of Sculpture Bermagui

Narra Bukulla is an artist-led initiative grounded in long-term engagement with place, sustainability, and community. The residency offers a balance of solitude and connection, supporting artists to develop work in a focused and immersive setting.
