In February 2011 Catherine or Kate sent cardboard cutouts of themselves to Post Museum, Singapore and made a request that current residents, Boxcopy, introduce them to eminent figures in the Singapore art scene. This exhibition shows the results of these encounters.
Catherine or Kate is a collaboration formed in 2008. From August 2010-August 2011 they worked under the name Catherine Sagin. This naming was the result of a work they undertook as part of the Institute of Modern Art’s Fresh Cut exhibition. At the opening of this event they engaged in a live fencing bout, the winner secured naming rights of the collaboration for one year. Catherine won the bout 10-8. Prior to this event they worked together under the name Fiona Mail.
