95% OF ARTISTS LEAVE BRISBANE. WHY DON’T YOU?’ was cheekily graffitied on the newly-built Cultural Centre back in 1982. This biting satire still stings in 2019, speaking to the inevitability of change and its intersections with travel, perception, and opinion.
In 2017, twenty-one students from the Queensland College of Art, Griffith University embarked on a European study tour, visiting the Venice Biennale and documenta in Kassel, Germany. Now presenting work created both before and after this trip, each artist invites you to come experience take-aways from Brisbane, Europe and anywhere between, to consider change in all its forms… Why don’t you?
Curated by Mark du Potiers.
