Deadline:

WHEN : 15th March — 6th April
WHERE : Spiro Grace Art Rooms

Culture Ecology’ presents a series of artworks that respond to the ecology of Hill End, experienced during an artist in residence at Haefligers Cottage in September 2012.

This exhibition presents works incorporating elements from the ‘fabric’ of Hill End. Moss reflects on activities of making home and how this alters and adapts the surrounding environment. From coppiced forests cut for firewood, (the climate at Hill End is harsh with very cold winters); to the planting of fruit trees for necessity of food. By exploring the adaption of environment at Hill End, Moss has incorporated ideas of comfort, cycles of life and death, and the heritage of introduced exotic species and migration in creating a cultural landscape.
