no wonder by Erika Scott

12th - 29th June / Opening 12th June

WHEN : 12th – 29th June / Opening 12th June
WHERE : Metro Arts

In her latest exhibition no wonder, Erika Scott uses second-hand fish tanks, photographs, gap filler, boxer shorts, dusters, glass, cane frames, tiles and a live axolotl to negotiate ‘symptoms’ of collage. In adopting processes of ‘making’ that tear, bind and break, Scott transforms these everyday materials so that categories of beauty, humanity and identity are made strange. She is interested in fluid and shifting definitions, ambivalent attitudes, confusion and allusion in her installations and she looks to find a ‘space’ where the subjective acknowledges ‘carefully calibrated feeling’.
