Nomad Art Prize 2026

Deadline:

Deadline: July 30

The Nomad Art Prize is an international award for visual artists that celebrates the relationship between artistic creation and the places that inspire it. Founded on the belief that art is inherently nomadic—crossing borders, cultures, and contexts—the prize seeks to recognise artists whose work embodies themes of movement, displacement, travel, and belonging.

For its 2026 edition, the Nomad Art Prize will take place in Lisbon, Portugal. Drawing inspiration from the city’s layered history, maritime heritage, and vibrant contemporary culture, the program invites artists from around the world to respond to the tensions between roots and movement through their creative practice.

Open to artists aged 16 and over from all nationalities, the prize welcomes submissions of one to three artworks. Applications will be reviewed by an international jury of curators, who will select eight artists to participate in the program.

Selected artists will each receive a €1,000 cash prize and be invited to attend a one-week creative residency in Lisbon, with travel and accommodation included. The residency will culminate in an exhibition at the renowned LX Factory in October 2026.

Artists retain full ownership and copyright of their submitted works.
