Out of the dark – into the Light exhibits an exploration into the complex relationship between light and dark, the beauty in the physical and the emotional power these intertwined forces inspire. The show collaboratively brings together the works of Noeline Lee, Claire Goodall, Emily Devine, Domenica Hoare, Nadja Kabriel, and Natasha Weller. Through conversation, these six Brisbane based artists have connected with the thoughts of Rix Brandt in exploring the complexity in seeing the light and not the dark. Further uncovering that “it is in the dark that we feel the goblins and ghosts” and formally responding through works that range from prints and paintings to sculpture.
