Continuing the theme from his earlier work, Patrick Langlois has expanded upon his unique style of portraiture and representation of the female figure in his new painting collection.

Drawing upon his career in architecture, Patrick’s canvases are layered with course texture evoking the surface of a stuccoed wall or corroding surface of a metal panel. The applied paint colours of red oxide, antique gold, pewter and blackened steel adds to the patina of constructive decay.

This rich encrusted ground provides a vivid contrasting surface to the screen printed fabrics used as backgrounds in the paintings and the graceful and elegant linework of his subject.
