Capturing a time of quarantines and lockdowns, ADAPT reflects on the collapse of the neat separations between work and home. Undressed bed sheets and steel ball-chain, window dressings and clothes-lines, canvas-based studio traditions and creative practices in home spaces all come together gently, magnetically…

ADAPT focuses us on the forces that condition our home lives and work lives; on the conventions that privilege or idealise certain work spaces over others; and on the give-and-take that constitutes our relationships with people, material, and places.

Paula Dunlop is an artist, designer and maker based in Brisbane, Australia. Her work is sometimes for the body, sometimes not; she creates both wearables and non-wearables, working contemporaneously across the two and in their in-between spaces.

Her jewellery is materials- and process-driven; she takes her lead from the the possibilities presented by the materials, or by exploring and extending time-honoured (and often time-consuming) construction techniques.
