Add your vision to a major exhibition about Peace
State Library of Queensland (SLQ) is presenting an exhibition titled Peace and Quiet from 28 November 2015 until 14 February 2016, which will explore personal, social and political ideas of peace.
Peace and Quiet is an opportunity for the community to explore and present a range of projects around the theme of peace, from the personal to the political.
You are invited to contribute an artwork of a peaceful landscape to be displayed in SLQ Gallery as part of the exhibition. This can be a painting, drawing, print, photograph or stitchery, and must be a figurative or semi-figurative work (ie. not abstract).
The peaceful landscape images provided by the community will be mounted directly over the First World War wall paper that currently engulfs SLQ Gallery as part of the First World War Distant Lines exhibition. Your gesture and the gesture of hundreds of others will be a powerful reminder of what is lost in times of war and what we strive for in peace.
Every artwork that is entered will be displayed in the exhibition, providing it meets the specified terms and conditions.
Peace and Quiet, as part of State Library’s Q ANZAC 100: Memories for a New Generation program, is proudly supported by the Queensland Government.
