Peter Hudson: Not Dark Yet

Deadline:

19 May
-
June 13
Mitchell Fine Art

Sunshine Coast–based artist Peter Hudson returns to Mitchell Fine Art for his fourth solo exhibition, Not Dark Yet.

In this contemplative new body of work, Hudson explores the quiet relationship between earth and sky. Birds, saltwater ecosystems, wildlife, moonlight, stars and the iconic Glass House Mountains appear throughout the exhibition as recurring motifs. These elements function as symbols of larger natural systems, reflecting cycles of gravity, migration and cosmic order.

Through richly layered paintings, Not Dark Yet celebrates the mystery of existence and the profound interconnectedness between the terrestrial world and the universe above.

The exhibition is accompanied by two special public events. An opening event and artist talk will be held on Saturday 23 May from 2:30pm to 4:30pm. On Wednesday 3 June from 6pm to 7pm, Hudson will present Antedote, a musical collaboration with Christian Dunham and Brendan St. Ledger, created in response to the exhibition.

All events are free and no RSVP is required.
