A special free event: luxuriate in the hypnotic ambient sound of two dozen vintage keyboards, strings, voices and subtle electric guitar – and some gorgeous cushions to sit and lie on, within one of Brisbane’s grandest Victorian-era homes.
The aim is a relaxing, glorious afternoon of ambient connections, across people, instruments and space.
“PORTAL: RE-SOUNDING HOUSE” is the culmination of Luke Jaaniste’s residency at Old Government House.Â
He will set up 24 vintage keyboards across mutliple rooms of the House, to create a hypnotic sonic field. And he has invited various improvising musicians of Brisbane to perform with and amongst them: strings, voice and subtle electric guitar – including members of Brisbane septet Nonsemble, as well as the likes of Lynette Lancini, Hannaka Johnson and Seamus Kirkpatrick.
