Join renowned Australian contemporary artist Deborah Kelly for an exciting two-day Masterclass that explores collage, collaborative art making and participatory art practices.
Fresh from her recent inclusion in The National at the Museum of Contemporary Art, Sydney; APT10 at QAGOMA; and exhibitions at Lismore Regional Gallery and Griffith University Art Museum, Deborah will guide students through craft skills and artistic approaches to creating collage, and collaboration with others in a series of unhurried, hands-on, open-ended tasks. The collages you make will be created from discarded vintage reference books and magazines from Deborah’s personal archive.
Through artist talks, conversations and hands-on making in the QCA Studios, students will not only develop a closer understanding of Kelly’s studio processes, they will also be encouraged to find new ways to engage with the art we make, the history in which we find ourselves, and the startling pleasures of collaborative art practices.
