Art, History and Change: Step into Brisbane’s Story at Queen’s Wharf Brisbane
After a sold-out summer debut, Museum of Brisbane, in partnership with The Star Brisbane and Queen’s Wharf Brisbane, proudly returns with Season 2 of its acclaimed Public Art Walking Tours.
This newly expanded 90-minute tour goes beyond the artworks, offering rich insight into Brisbane’s evolving identity—connecting stories of First Nations culture, colonial legacy, and contemporary transformation through art and public space.
Led by expert guides, the tour begins with Lindy Lee’s Being Swallowed by the Milky Way and journeys through Queen’s Wharf where participants encounter:
-
Justene Williams’ Sheila – a commanding bronze goddess
-
Tony Albert’s Inhabitant – a floating native botanical garden
-
Mr Wanambi’s Destiny – aluminium mullet fish sculpture
-
Samuel Tupou’s Lungfish Dreamz – a supersized mosaic wall
-
Works by internationally renowned artists Sir Antony Gormley and Tom Friedman
The tour concludes on The Star’s Sky Deck—offering sweeping views of the city and a 20% discount at either Cicada Blu or Babblers, depending on your tour day.
Make a day of it: visit Museum of Brisbane before or after your tour to see the current exhibition Precious and explore the MoB Shop for locally designed gifts.
