“A few years ago I found something I had been searching for – a sailing boat of a certain type. Large enough to paint on and set up well enough to stay out on in all sorts of weather and yet small enough to manage on my own with shallow draft to move close along the shoreline.

She was lying in Pittwater and now swings quietly on her mooring outside home. I have renamed her Atelier and these paintings are largely a result of time spent in one place watching the way weather, tide and light can alter this landscape at the edge of the sea.”
