RFQ have officially launched their ‘Call for Artists’campaign, inviting artists with a lived experience of mental illness to register to display their artwork at the 2019 Recovered Futures Art Exhibition. Registrations are also open to artists who are carers or family members of someone with lived experience.
The art exhibition will feature during Queensland Mental Health Week, 5-11 October 2019 in the Toowong Room, Brisbane City Hall, and all artwork on display will be for sale.
Brisbane artists may recall the MIFQ Art Exhibition. Following the merger with RFQ in 2018, the event has been hosted by RFQ under the banner of Recovered Futures Art Exhibition.
The event was recognised by the former Lord Mayor Graham Quirk in 2019 for it’s significant contribution to the Brisbane community in raising awareness of recovery from mental illness. The event was awarded the 2019 Australia Day Cultural/Arts Award.
Artists wishing to enter the 2019 Recovered Futures Art Exhibition can exhibit up to 2 artworks by registering online before 12 July 2019. A registration fee of $11 applies.
Artwork must be delivered to selected RFQ locations by 16 August 2019.
Artists must read the Terms & Conditions before registering for the event.
A sample lodgement form is provided on the website as a guide for artists who may need time to prepare their responses.
