Reframed’ is the third in a series of annual exhibitions by a group of twenty-six local artists. Their exhibitions are characterised by a multiplicity of styles and mediums across painting, photography, objects, installation and jewelry, representing a diverse range of creative practice.
Outside of their creative practices, each artist works within the gallery environment; each dedicating their time to prompting, exploring and understanding the experience of visual art.
The title, ‘Reframed’, implies that the work has not only been ‘framed’ once, but twice, through the artists acquired knowledge and understanding. The title also lends itself to the ‘reframing’ or reconstruction of the roles of gallery/ arts workers and artists as separate entities and aims to celebrate the creative and diverse multi-disciplinary art community within Brisbane.
