Richard Bell, on a brief return visit home from Europe, will be joined co-editor Megan Tamati-Quennell, contributing author Professor Chelsea Watego and special guests to discuss Richard’s inclusion at documenta fifteen, his perspectives on the collectivist optimism of its agenda and the events that have unfolded over the 2022 iteration of this major art world event.

When: Tuesday 18 October 6-8pm
Where: Griffith University Art Museum Lecture Theatre, 226 Grey St, South Brisbane QLD 4101
Cost: Free

‘Richard Bell Reader: documenta fifteen’ was developed to contextualise Bell’s work for international audiences. Comprising texts by Chelsea Watego, Larissa Behrendt, Alan Michelson, Andrew McNamara, and Sylvia McAdam, the publication gives context and background to Bell’s documenta project and the specific histories he draws on, the broadsheet format publication also includes an interview with Bell and documenta fifteen’s curators, Jakarta based art initiative ruangrupa, as well as full colour reproductions of Bell’s most recent ‘History Paintings’.

Purchase your copy at the Art Museum or via our online bookshop.
