Robert Baines, one of Australia’s most respected artist goldsmiths, has often drawn inspiration from the historical context of jewellery as well as the concepts of fakery and copies. In the Metal exhibition, Baines plays with history and its reinterpretation to raise questions of authenticity. In this exhibition, nothing is quite what it seems.
