DEADLINE : April 10th
SafARI is the unofficial fringe exhibition to the Biennale of Sydney, and 2014 will mark its fifth edition. SafARI showcases the work of emerging and unrepresented Australian artists in multiple sites across Sydney, including Artist Run Initiatives (ARIs) and public spaces. It is timed to coincide with the crucial first opening weeks of the Biennale of Sydney in March 2014.
In the past, SafARI has exhibited the work of sculptors, photographers, installation artists, painters, performance artists, ceramicists, printmakers, digital, video and new media artists, and we are interested in representing the diversity of Australian contemporary arts practice again in 2014. Previous participants in SafARI have gone on to new heights in their practice and careers; artists such as Clark Beaumont, Liam Benson, Tom Polo, Karla Dickens and Mark Rodda.
SafARI is now calling for submissions from emerging and unrepresented artists working across diverse media across Australia to be considered for SafARI 2014. Solo artists and/or groups of one or more artists will be considered. Submissions should include: An artist statement (max 300 words) A proposal of artworks/projects for SafARI 2014 (max 300 words) Maximum of 10 images and/or footage 1 A4 page CV Stamped SAE for return of material if required.
