An exhibition from the new printmaking collection by artist Sarah Mitchell.
Sarah Mitchell grew up in Ireland, always drawing. Her imagination was fueled by the illustrations of Aubrey Beardsley, the poetry of Hillaire Belloc and Edward Lear’s Book of Nonsense. Combining words and images has been a lifelong passion, and as she grows older, the humour in a lot of her work has sharpened into satire.
Sarah gained an honours degree in graphic design from the National College of Art and Design in Dublin in 1979, and migrated to Australia. She freelanced in graphics, cartooning and illustration. Eight years ago she took up printmaking and has exhibited in Brisbane, Melbourne and Horbart
