Lethbridge Gallery presents Fragments from the Fire, an exhibition by Brisbane-based artist Scott Breton.
“The various works of this collection are not neatly harmonised. Rather they are fragments from my own fire – from my diverse obsessions, drives and discoveries. They are somewhat in tension with each other visually and psychologically. Yet in this tension is their harmony, or at least a common tremulous thread I am trying to hold.”
The exhibition brings together works exploring the artist’s interests in landscape, symbolism and the psychological qualities of visual experience.
An opening event will be held on Friday 25 September, from 6–7:30pm, offering visitors the opportunity to meet the artist and view the exhibition.
Scott Breton will also present a live drawing demonstration and artist talk on Saturday 26 September, from 11:30am to 1:30pm, sharing insights into the techniques, ideas and observations underpinning his paintings.
