Sculpture at Scenic World celebrates its fifth exhibition in 2016 and is inviting submissions for Australia’s only rainforest exhibition to be held over 30 days between April 8 – May 8 2016.
Artists are selected by an independent panel seeking highly accomplished artworks across all sculptural and installation mediums, by artists from all over the world.
Previous exhibition judges have included Anne Loxley, David Williams, Clara Hali, Tony Bond OAM, Dr Richard Goodwin and Binghui Huangfu. The deadline forSculpture at Scenic World 2016 submissions is Monday November 23, 2015. Successful artists will be notified on Monday December 7, 2015.
Sculpture at Scenic World has supported more than 140 exhibiting artists over the past 4 years, attracting over 250,000 visitors to ride the world’s steepest railway into the Jurassic rainforest to view the sculptures and installations.
2016 EXHIBITION HIGHLIGHTS
An estimated 55,000 international and national visitors will see the 2016 Sculpture at Scenic World exhibition. Participating artists are eligible for awards including:
- $20,000 Scenic World Major Award (non-acquisitive)
- $5,000 Artists’ Peer Award
- $2,000 Scenic World Staff Award
- $1,000 People’s Choice Award sponsored by The Carrington, Blue Mountains
Sculpture Otherwise (the indoor component of the event), will exhibit in the Blue Mountains City Art Gallery creating a full day out of art in the Blue Mountains.
All participating artists will receive a $500- Artist Fee and interstate and international artists will receive a further $250- freight fee.
