Picture is a new work by Brisbane-based artist, Simone Hine. Édouard Manet’s Bar at the Folies-Bergère (1882) and Jeff Wall’s Picture for Women (1979) act as precursors for this work. Picture is a public intervention that utilises the context of the Kuiper Shop Front, as a retail site, to re-imagine both works within the context of late capitalism.
