WHEN : 5th Dec, 6:30pm
WHERE : Metro Arts
Singapore-Brisbane Exchange is a collaboration between Metro Arts and Chan Hampe Galleries. This cross-cultural exchange brings together contributions from four visual artists, a writer, and curator from Australia and Singapore and provides a residency across the two countries, which culminates in a series of talks, events and a culminating exhibition at Metro Arts.
Jamie Lewis (AUS), Jessica O’Brien (AUS), Bernice Ong (SG), Richard Stride (AUS), Beatrice Teo (SG), and Zyf Zaini (SG) have all taken part in this project – sharing ideas, collaborating and developing new work in response to their engagement with the urbanization and built environment of Singapore and Brisbane over the course of the residency.
Singapore-Brisbane Exchange is borne out of the rapidly increasing development of the Asia Pacific Region. The question of how these terrains can shape creative practice is the impetus for this project and the over-arching premise of the exhibition.

Preceding the exhibition opening, join Courtney Pedersen and Dirk Yates with Singapore-Brisbane Exchange participants in-conversation about the urbanisation of the two cities and how this can potentially shape contemporary art practice.
