The Swatch Art Peace Hotel artist residency is calling for applications from artists from around the world to undertake a 3 to 6-month residency in the city of Shanghai, China.
Dancers, musicians, photographers, filmmakers, writers, painters, conceptual artists, and many more creative individuals from around the world can apply to live and work in the Swatch Art Peace Hotel’s workshops and apartments and explore the contemporary arts in Shanghai. The focus of the residency is on creative exchange. Artists are free to engage in individual or joint projects.
At the end of their stay, all participants are asked to leave an artistic ‘trace’ of their choice.
The Swatch Art Peace Hotel artist residency provides the following:
- Assistance when applying for a business visa
- Round trip ticket to Shanghai
- Accommodation at the Swatch Art Peace Hotel (individual accommodation and working space)
There is no stipend and there is a fee to apply (which is donated to Médecins Sans Frontières/Doctors Without Borders).
