Artists are invited to submit entries for the 11th annual Swell Sculpture Festival taking place on the Gold Coast’s Currumbin Beach in Queensland from 13 – 22 September, 2013. In 2013 the top award is the $15,000 Swell Sculpture Award (non-acquisitive) sponsored by the Gold Coast City Council.
Exhibiting up to 55 sculptures, Swell Sculpture Festival supports full freedom of expression for all forms of sculpture and encourage submissions with entry open to artists nationally and internationally working in any medium.
Other awards will include the People’s Choice Award, Kids’ Choice Award, Max Fabre Foundation Environmental Awareness Award, Jennie Neumann OAM Emerging Artist Award and Media Award will also continue taking the award pool to $30,000.
Swell Sculpture Festival provides artists with the opportunity to exhibit in a highly regarded exhibition set within a visually stimulating, expansive coastal landscape. The free to the public exhibition attracts an audience of around 190,000 over 10 days.
