WHEN : 24th and 25th March, 12:00 – 6:00pm,
WHAT : Workshop
WHERE : The Edge Auditorium/Lab 1/Lab 2
This weekend master class pairs you up with the magical artists from Greedy Hen. These DIY darlings are in demand, their stellar reputation stemming from their work with indie musos such as Josh Pyke, The Middle East, Cloud Control and Jebediah.
Be introduced to their menagerie of hand-crafted animation styles and dabble in old-school techniques like puppetry, 3D diorama and collage. Working in small groups, throughout the weekend you will use tactile materials like plasticine, paper, textas and paint to construct your story.
Learn to capture your footage with stills cameras and edit and manipulate it in Final Cut Pro. A basic understanding of cameras and video editing is recommended for this workshop. If you would like to brush up on your skills, you can register for our Bread and Butter workshops on video editing (7 March), animation (12 March) or photography (24 March).
More about Greedy Hen
Greedy Hen is a multi-disciplinary studio functioning partly as an art collective and partly as a design studio, housing the collaborative works of Katherine Brickman and Kate Mitchell. They devise projects intent on creating imagery eluding to a playful black humour, unwritten fables, or subtle off-kilter sinister elements lurking amongst a kinder-esq beauty. Greedy Hen’s work falls between the boundaries of traditional fields. They utilise various mediums preferring to let their ideas manifest in whatever way seems to be most appropriate at the time.
