State Library The Studio, level 1

WHEN : 16th November – 15th December
WHERE : State Library The Studio, level 1

Explore the Queensland character through diverse art works from 36 of the finest emerging and established artists in regional and remote Queensland, in this touring exhibition of the 2012 Queensland Regional Art Awards.

Artists were invited to explore ‘the essential character of Queensland’, reflecting on Queensland icons, places, or landmarks or responding to events that have helped shape our state. This annual program highlights the wealth of creative talent living and working outside the capital city.

The Essential Character of Queensland will be launched on Saturday 16 November by Chris Saines, Director QAGOMA, with a public forum, floor talk by curator John Waldron, and drinks and afternoon tea, and followed by an artists’ masterclass on Sunday. Book now to join us for this free, public launch event. Presented by Flying Arts Alliance Inc.
