Tracing the Ephemeral: Towards a History of Artist Run Initiatives in Brisbane

Deadline:

State Library of Queensland, Auditorium 2, Level 2

WHEN : 1st June, 2:00 – 3:00pm
WHERE : State Library of Queensland, Auditorium 2, Level 2

Join Peter Anderson, our 2013 Australian Library of Art Siganto Foundation Fellow, for an insightful discussion of the history and significance of artist run initiatives in Brisbane since the 1970s. While artist initiated exhibition spaces and projects have a rich history in the city, the important role they have played is not well known. This lecture takes a trip through the archives to map a less familiar path through the Brisbane art scene of the last few decades.

Proudly supported by the Siganto Foundation
