WHEN : 14th November, 6:00 – 9:00pm
WHERE : Fish Lane Studios / The Fox Hotel
Since undertaking their residency at the Fox Hotel, David and Angela have been enraptured by one thing: copper. This material fascination led to the Copperart exhibition, which presented a series of sculptures made from salvaged copper wire. These works transformed discarded waste into imitations of expensive objects of desire as a discussion of the arbitrary nature of value.
Their investigation into copper has been paralleled by their exploration of the Fox Hotel. This spanned from the luxury of ‘the boudoir’ to the labyrinthine basement; the heart of the hotel with its fans, cords and pipes. These explorations have inspired the sequel exhibition, trareppoC, which is concerned not with end products, but the source of them; the players involved in the production of ‘things’ and the detritus left behind after copper has been mined or gleaned from electrical cords.
trareppoC features new work including video created on site at the hotel and live performances by DJ Cool and local thespian Geoffrey Vagg!
