artisan invites applications for UNLEASHED+ 2026, its flagship biennial exhibition supporting emerging craft and design practitioners across Queensland.
A nationally recognised program with over two decades of legacy, UNLEASHED has launched the careers of leading makers including Anna Varendorff, Ebony Birks, Nicolette Johnson and Dan Watson. In 2026, the program enters a new chapter with UNLEASHED+, presented at HOTA Gallery, Home of the Arts.
Open to students, recent graduates, and early-career practitioners (18+) with a Queensland connection, this opportunity offers a platform to showcase new work alongside a suite of professional development experiences.
Selected participants will receive an artist fee (NAVA standard), professional installation, and high-quality documentation for their portfolio. The program also includes 12 months of access to artisan’s professional development workshops, mentoring and networking opportunities, and pathways into new markets through the LATCH Product Development program.
The 2026 edition will also feature a dedicated presentation of artists from artisan’s inaugural residency program, alongside an opening weekend of talks, workshops, studio tours, and public programs.
This is a significant opportunity for emerging makers to develop their practice, expand networks, and gain visibility within the contemporary craft and design sector.
