Expressions of Interest are now open for A Very Big Giant Party (VBGP) 2026, the annual exhibition presented by the University of Queensland Society of Fine Art (SoFA).
Now in its fourth year, the exhibition celebrates emerging and early-career artists from The University of Queensland and the wider South East Queensland arts community. Hosted at Vacant Assembly, VBGP aims to foster connections between artists and the next generation of arts professionals while introducing participants’ work to new audiences.
Artists working across all mediums are encouraged to apply, including painting, ceramics, sculpture, installation, mixed media, interactive works and video. Proposed works do not need to be completed at the time of application; however, applicants must provide a detailed concept outlining the work they intend to exhibit.
Successful artists will be required to deliver their work on the morning of the exhibition and collect it following the event.
