The Venuvana Artist Residency, presented by ABARI, invites artists, architects, writers and interdisciplinary practitioners to immerse themselves in the landscapes of Nepal through nature-based creative research and making.
Hosted on an organic farm in Chitwan and Dhulikhel, the residency offers dedicated time to develop new work within a bamboo forest surrounded by farmland, rivers and native forest. Residents live in private cabins designed using bamboo and earth architecture, with opportunities to engage in hiking, jungle walks, waterfall visits, foraging and community exchange.
The program encourages participants to create work that responds to place, material and environment, allowing nature and local culture to shape the creative process. Operated by ABARI, a Nepal-based organisation recognised for its pioneering work in sustainable bamboo and earth architecture, the residency brings together ecological thinking, contemporary art and cultural exchange.
