Vulnerable Bodies considers the multi-faceted experience of human migration. Some people migrate due to necessity while others move by choice in pursuit of a better life. The works in this exhibition reflect the artist’s personal experience as a South African immigrant living in Australia. The act of processing migration can awaken memories that are often intrusive and without narrative, especially when migrants leave behind a difficult past. In this exhibition, the body is considered as a container of memory to explore its fragility and bring to the surface the often-unspoken challenges migrants face.

Exhibition Dates: 13 June to 25 July 2020
Opening Hours: Tuesday to Saturday, from 10am to 5pm.
Location: Logan Art Gallery, Cnr Wembley Rd & Jacaranda Ave, Logan Central
