The Condensery

Hayley Megan French paints the streets of suburbia, homes, yards, and memories of landscapes. Her paintings are a form of meditation on the details that create our sense of home and neighbourhood. This growing body of work engages in a conversation about what suburbia means in the Australian imagination. At the centre of this conversation is home.

Since 2018 Hayley has been developing a major body of work titled The Pipeline which includes new work made from images taken in the Somerset region. Together with a series of paintings which map walking paths near the artists’ home, Within Walking Distance brings a sense of renewed wonder and attention to where and how we live.

Hayley Megan French exhibits regularly in artist-run, regional and commercial galleries around Australia. She is represented by Galerie pompom, Sydney and Alexandra Lawson Gallery, Toowoomba.
