yoke. is a collaborative exhibition from Queensland College of Art, Griffith University Doctoral Visual Arts Candidates Adam Anderson and Andrew Willis.

Photographic portraiture frequently attracts discourse about the real and the artificial. It often pertains to the fidelity of the image to the represented identities; a complex and unstable negotiation that occurs between the subject, the photographer, and the viewer.

A photographic portrait can be thought of as an entanglement of simultaneous, multiple projections cast between individuals that, as they subconsciously attempt to locate themselves within the image, bleed at the borders of self and other. yoke. aims to expand this concept out from the photographic still image and into the expanded fields of video, installation and performance art.
