ABOUT THE FACILITATOR

Liam Herne is an interdisciplinary artist from Watford, UK whose work explores the human condition and how it is presented through our interactions online. Inspired by various facets of the internet and social media such as Facebook, memes and online gaming, he works predominately with photographic media and video. Now based in Brisbane, Liam currently works as an Arts Educator and professional artist, creating his photographic works by combining kitsch imagery with abstract expressionism. His work is quasi-autobiographical as it is heavily influenced by his surroundings and the different things he finds or encounters. His main sources of inspiration include the 1980’s group of London-based artists known as the Young British Artists or YBAs (members included Tracey Emin and Damien Hirst, initially financed by investor and gallerist Charles Saatchi), Andy Warhol and Robert Rauschenberg.Facilitator is current at time of publishing. Facilitator is subject to change in cases of unforeseeable circumstances.
