“2 Big 2 Fail” is the second exhibition to be held at The Hold Artspace, and will showcase the work of six Brisbane-based emerging artists. This exhibition will comprise interdisciplinary art works that bring into question the social impacts of mass culture and consumerism. The conventional relationships that exist between audiences and popular culture will be re-contextualised in a series of experimental works that combine video, sculpture, painting and installation. In the wake of these growing, global trends, “2 Big 2 Fail” attempts to partially lift the thin veil that separates audiences from the inner workings of mainstream visual culture.
