REDSEA Gallery is very excited to present this exclusive exhibition by two of Australia’s most pertinent Urban Artists, Christian Palmer and Mike Chavez. Public Outcry will showcase the depth and talent of these two artists who utilise art as a communication tool to discuss contemporary issues.
Palmer, who has been represented by REDSEA gallery for over four years, take inspirations for this new series from the public art in the city of Paris. His work acts as a vehicle for social commentary on the modern collective consciousness. Addressing issues ranging from the death of Cecil the Lion to the terrorist shooting of a cartoonist in Paris; to same sex marriage; and even to the search for love in a digital environment.
Directly following a sell-out show at the Sydney Contemporary Art Fair, Michael Chavez’s new body of work is an intensely personal, no-holds-barred insight into the tenuous world of personal relationships. As an Archibald finalist, Chavez has been nominated as one of the top 20 artists under 35 in Australia by an independent panel of curators and arts writers assembled by Art Melbourne. He was featured in New Generation, a showcase of emerging artists who are “…doing important work and should be considered seriously by collectors and astute investors.”
