Artist in Residence Science Program

Interested applicants should read the guidelines and additional information. Expressions of interest are due on the closing date 11 March 2016.

The successful applicants will have the opportunity to interact and collaborate with scientists from the Science Division who work within the environment and natural science sectors such as: monitoring and assessment services for air and water; wave buoy monitoring for surf, flood, storm and cyclonic conditions, soils and landscapes; and plants, fungi and animals.

Opportunities may also exist to participate in laboratory work or accompany science staff on field trips. The residency concludes with the successful artists participation in an Arts-meets-Science exhibition in August 2016. The artists and the residency will be promoted on the Queensland Science social media and web pages

The AIRS program promotes the role and value of arts and science sectors as key drivers of discovery, innovation and growth across Queensland. This is done by nurturing our collective and creative intelligence as we work to understand the environmental challenges facing the state. AIRS is a Queensland Government program, managed by DSITI’s Science Division, in consultation with Arts Queensland.
