Hold by Caitlin Franzmann

Deadline:

Hangar - Lower 151 Musgrave Road, Red Hill, Brisbane

WHEN : 28th April, 6:00 – 8:30pm
WHERE : Hangar – Lower 151 Musgrave Road, Red Hill, Brisbane

Caitlin Franzmann creates work that encourages perpetual shifts between a person’s internal and external space. In ‘Hold’ she will create an intimate and sensory experience for visitors to consider not only the visible, but also the less tangible realms of their situation.

Caitlin Franzmann is a Brisbane based artist with an interest in how people respond to space and place. She is also an urban planner with a desire to create cities and environments that enliven the senses and defend the natural slowness and autonomy of individual experience. In 2011 Caitlin completed a Bachelor of Fine Art degree, majoring in sculpture, at Queensland College of Art, Griffith University. Caitlin is currently undertaking a three month artist residency with Brisbane based Artists Run Initiative, LEVEL, whilst also completing the Fine Art Honours program at QCA. Caitlin’s work has been exhibited locally and interstate at Ryan Renshaw Gallery, Griffith University Art Gallery, The Art Factory, Barratt Gallery, Nine Lives Gallery and Tidy Gallery. She was a finalist in the highly competitive 2011 GAS Graduate Art Show at Griffith University Gallery and was awarded the Griffith University Undergraduate Sculpture Award, 2011.

This project has been assisted by the Australia Government through the Australia Council, its arts funding and advisory body.
