Perth artist Rebecca Baumann’s flickering colour fields may be motor driven, but the effect is like falling leaves, evoking the random beauty of nature. Using thousands of cards (in a variety of blues) attached to a grid of ninety-six flip-clock mechanisms, her Automated Monochrome continuously recomposes itself over a twenty-four-hour period.
