Come alone or with your partner to The Shaper Studio – a self-contained living space and studio – on mumirimina country just south of Hobart. A residency in The Shaper Studio gives you a completely independent 72sqm space suitable for a single or couple. It has a bedroom, kitchen living room and well-lit studio. There is an outside composting toilet and a specially designed semi-outdoor hot shower surrounded by trees but with a view of the tidal water of Pipe Clay Lagoon. There is a wood-burning heater to keep you snug in the winter, easy car access and lots to see and do in the immediate surrounding area. Add to this, MONA, just a drive away, amazing landscapes all around and historic landmarks within a short drive. The studio offers you a very quiet environment to create but within easy access of rich Tasmanian culture and all only a 25 minute drive to Hobart.
The Shaper Studio is available for between 2 – 12 week residencies. Rates for the Shaper Studio vary according to the length of stay: A standard two-week stay costs $1300, one month is $2100, and rates reduce for longer stays.
