The 2025 Ravenswood Australian Women’s Art Prize is now open for entries. The Ravenswood Australian Women’s Art Prize is the highest valued Art Prize for women in Australia and in 2025 will award artists with $58,000 in prize money across three categories – Professional, Indigenous and Emerging. There is also Highly Commended awards as well as a People’s Choice award.
The 2024 Art Prize received more than 1600 entries (from every Australian state and territory) – almost double the entries the Archibald Prize received. Entering its ninth year in 2025, the Ravenswood Australian Women’s Art Prize is steadfast in its commitment to recognising the contributions of women artists. The annual acquisitive Art Prize has drawn more than 11,100 entries since launching in 2017, solidifying its pivotal role in shining a spotlight on women artists across Australia. Accentuating the Prize’s significance on the Australian art landscape, Emerging and Indigenous artists have accounted for 65% of submissions since 2017.
All entrants must be 18 years or over as of 1 February 2025. Entries close on 5 March 2025 and finalists are announced on 8 May 2025. 2025 Opening Night will be held at Ravenswood School for Girls on 20 June 2025, followed by a 2 week Exhibition of Finalists (free entry).
