Deadline: 2 February

Somerset Regional Council is seeking Expressions of Interest from Somerset and South-East Queensland artists to deliver a public artwork as part of the Resilient Rivers Initiative – Somerset Fish Habitat Revitalisation Project.

The commissioned artwork will utilise a redundant concrete water tank at Twin Bridges Reserve and respond to the project’s environmental and cultural objectives. Artists are invited to propose works that celebrate the region’s aquatic habitats and species, draw attention to threatened species conservation—particularly the Mary River Cod (also known as the Brisbane River Cod, now extinct)—and creatively rejuvenate or upcycle redundant infrastructure.

Artists at all stages of their practice are encouraged to apply. The project offers an opportunity to contribute meaningfully to environmental awareness, public space activation, and community engagement within the Somerset region.
