Deadline: 22 March

Outer Space, in partnership with Performance Space (Gadigal/Sydney), announces an Experimental Performance Art Residency for Queensland-based artists working across movement, dance, theatre, drag, sound and hybrid practices.

This process-led residency unfolds across two cities: a 5-day intensive in Gadigal/Sydney followed by a 10-day development period in Magandjin/Brisbane at the Judith Wright Arts Centre. The program supports the development of new work without the pressure of a finished outcome and includes studio time, mentorship, feedback sessions, showing opportunities and access to a national network of artists and audiences.

Successful applicants receive:
– $4,000 artist fee
– $1,000 production budget
– Return flights, accommodation and per diem (Sydney intensive)
– Studio space in Sydney and Brisbane
– Mentorship from Outer Space and Performance Space

First Nations, people of colour, regional, queer and gender diverse artists are strongly encouraged to apply. Undergraduate students are not eligible. Applicants must be Queensland-based and provide a valid ABN.

Q&A Information Session: Saturday 14 March 2026, 11am
