4A Centre for Contemporary Asian Art: 4A LAB Emerging Digital Artist Program 2026

Deadline:

Deadline: August 10

Applications are now open for the 4A LAB Emerging Digital Artist Program 2026, an exhibition opportunity presented by the 4A Centre for Contemporary Asian Art.

Established in honour of the late Australian artist Laurens Tan (1950–2025), the program supports emerging artists working with digital media, new technologies and experimental contemporary practice. The initiative seeks projects that explore the changing relationships between physical and virtual worlds through innovative approaches to digital art.

Two exhibition opportunities are available, with selected artists presenting an eight-day exhibition at 4A LAB in either late 2026 or early 2027. Successful applicants will receive $1,000 in artist fees, a $500 materials budget, 12% superannuation, professional curatorial support, installation assistance and marketing support from the 4A team.

The program welcomes artists at all stages of an emerging practice, including those transitioning into digital media. Applications from First Nations, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, Asian diaspora, people of colour, queer and gender diverse people, people with disabilities and other marginalised communities are strongly encouraged.
