Join artist Kuweni Dias Mendis for an immersive two-day workshop exploring the process of transforming local earth into natural pigments and paint.
Participants will learn how to respectfully gather, grind, sieve and process coloured soils before using their handmade pigments to create artworks on paper and fabric. The workshop also incorporates field notes, sketching and reflective journaling, encouraging participants to slow down and develop a deeper relationship with place.
Suitable for beginners, with no previous art experience required. All materials are provided.
Participants will meet at a pigment collection site near Toogoolawah before returning to The Condensery for the Thursday afternoon and Friday sessions. Detailed directions will be provided upon booking.
