Brisbane Powerhouse

The Brisbane Powerhouse, once a power station serving the city, was reimagined and brought to life 25 years ago as a community hub for the arts.

Poised on the tip of the New Farm peninsula, Brisbane Powerhouse is a building of enduring physical presence. It is a place that welcomes and supports all of Brisbane’s diverse communities.

A place where people can feel comfortable. A place that supports a wide range of identities and serves as both a backdrop and vessel for their many needs and aspirations. A place that reveals and honours its history while serving the present and offering opportunities for the future.

This exhibition presents visual works by architects and artists reflecting on Brisbane Powerhouse as a Place of Community – a physical artefact tuned to serve the arts and the wider Brisbane community.
